Wooden Educational Toys

Wooden educational toys supplied direct from a factory in China: Montessori materials, puzzles, building blocks and board games for the 1–3 and 3–6 age bands, produced to EN71 and ASTM F963 requirements in our own plant in Yunhe, Zhejiang.

What makes a wooden toy educational

A wooden toy is educational when the design has a learning intention behind it and the age grading matches the child. That is a design decision, not a label: the size of the parts decides what a one-year-old can grasp, the number of pieces decides how long a three-year-old stays with it, and the printed content decides whether the toy teaches colours, numbers, letters or nothing at all.

Because we manufacture the range ourselves, that intention is set at the drawing stage — and so is the age grade, which is what fixes the testing scope later. Buyers who choose the age band before sampling usually get through development in fewer rounds.

Developing an educational toy to your brief

Most educational ranges we produce started as a learning objective rather than a product: teach counting to four-year-olds, give a two-year-old a safe grasping exercise, or add a game that a family can finish in ten minutes. Send us the objective, the target age band and the quantity you have in mind, and we will come back with a costed proposal and tell you plainly which parts are straightforward. See OEM wooden toys for how that runs, and private label wooden toys if you want the range under your own brand. If you are choosing who to buy from, the range as a whole is on the wooden toy supplier page.

Frequently asked questions

What age range do your wooden educational toys cover?

The main bands are 1–3 for Montessori materials, chunky puzzles and baby toys, and 3–6 for counting games, blocks, drawing boards and role play. Strategy games run from 5 upwards.

Do you make wooden STEM toys?

Our STEM-side range is construction and making rather than electronics: building blocks, balance and stacking sets, counting games and the tool table and craft sets. They are wood, and they are produced to the same toy safety standards as the rest of the range.

Can you develop an educational toy from a learning brief?

Yes. Send the learning objective, the target age band and the quantity, and we will come back with a costed proposal and a pre-production sample for approval. Custom sampling takes about 10 days.

Do you supply wooden educational toys wholesale?

Yes. In-stock items start at 50 pieces per item, mixed ranges can be consolidated into one shipment, and price is quoted against your list rather than a published table.

Which safety standards apply to educational toys?

Educational toys are toys, so the same rules apply: EN71 in the EU including EN71-3 migration limits on coatings, and ASTM F963 with CPSIA and Children’s Product Certificate documentation in the United States.

How does age grading affect the order?

The age printed on the packaging decides what has to be tested, especially small parts for anything under three. We fix the age grade before sampling so the test plan, the labelling and the design all agree.

Can the toys carry our own brand?

Yes. Your logo can be printed or laser engraved on the product, and the packaging, barcode and carton marks are produced to your artwork.

How long does production take?

A typical cycle is around 30 days after order confirmation, subject to complexity, material and quantity. Printed packaging adds a little longer.

Educational ranges usually run as an OEM programme: the learning brief becomes a drawing, then a sample, then a tested production item.
