Balance Bike Manufacturer

Nineteen balance bike models made in our own factory in Yunhe, Zhejiang, with the frame, wheel and finishing decisions explained before you commit to a container.

What we make in the balance bike line

A balance bike is the item in our catalogue with the most model variation, because the market is split between a first bike for a toddler and a first bike for a pre-schooler.

  • Toddler models — low seat height, restricted steering angle and EVA wheels, sold from 18 months.
  • Pre-school models — adjustable seat and handlebar, larger wheels, sold from 2 or 3 years.
  • Pneumatic wheel models — for markets where buyers expect a rubber tyre and a spare inner tube in the box.
  • Branded models — laser-engraved frame, printed deck and a colour-matched grip, produced under the buyer’s own name.

All nineteen models are in the wooden balance bikes category.

WheelsEVA foam wheels for a maintenance-free indoor and pavement bike, or pneumatic tyres where the market expects them. Both are quoted per model.
Age gradingTypically 18 months to 3 years, or 2 to 5 years depending on the model. The grade decides the test programme and the label.

The four decisions that set the price

Two bikes can look identical in a catalogue photo and differ substantially in unit cost. These are the levers, and we quote them separately so the trade-off is visible.

  • Wheel type. EVA foam wheels remove the tyre, tube and valve, and with them the risk of a flat.
  • Adjustability. A movable seat needs hardware, a second drilling position and a longer assembly step.
  • Handlebar and grip. A foam grip is the common choice; a rubber or TPR grip costs more and feels better.
  • Finish and branding. Laser engraving and printed panels add a step but remove the need for a separate label.

Testing a ride-on toy

A balance bike is tested as a ride-on toy rather than as a static toy, because the child sits on it and it moves.

  • Static and dynamic load. The frame and seat are loaded to confirm they do not collapse in use.
  • Stability and tip-over. Steering angle and wheelbase are fixed at design stage, because they cannot be changed after tooling.
  • Sharp edges and small parts. Hardware, end caps and the grip are checked, particularly on models sold under three years.
  • Coating and phthalates. Water-based paint to EN71-3 limits; plastisol-free parts where a market requires it.

EN71 reports are issued for the EU, and ASTM F963 reports with CPC paperwork for the US. FSC chain of custody covers the frame plywood where FSC stock is used.

Sampling a bike before you commit

A sample bike is built to your wheel choice, seat height and colour, and takes about 10 days. Because the frame shape is the expensive part, most buyers sample one model, approve it, then add a second colourway rather than a second frame.

In-stock models start at 50 pieces per item and production runs around 30 days after order confirmation.

Frequently asked questions

Which wheels do your balance bikes use?

Both EVA foam and pneumatic wheels are available on the catalogue models. Foam is maintenance-free, pneumatic is what some markets expect; we quote both per model.

Can the seat height be adjustable?

Yes. Fixed and adjustable models are both in the range, and the adjustable version is quoted separately because of the extra hardware and assembly step.

What age are your balance bikes designed for?

From 18 months for the toddler models, and from 2 or 3 years for the larger adjustable models. The age grade decides the test programme and the label.

Can you laser engrave our logo on the frame?

Yes. Laser engraving and printed panels are both in use, which also removes the need for a separate brand label on the frame.

What is the MOQ for a balance bike order?

In-stock models start at 50 pieces per item. OEM and private-label bikes are quoted per product because the minimum depends on the customisation.

How long does a bike sample take?

About 10 days for a custom build. Catalogue models are usually dispatched within 48 hours.
