Kids Playground

Wooden outdoor toys, play equipment and playground items for schools and retailers. From 50 pcs, custom sizes, EN71 and ASTM F963, timber documents.

Play equipment splits into two very different businesses - items for a family garden and equipment for a public play area - and they are tested against different standards. We manufacture wooden play equipment in Yunhe, Zhejiang and supply it factory direct to importers, garden retail and play providers.

Wholesale kids playground equipment: what actually decides the order

The first question is not price, it is which standard the product has to meet. Domestic activity toys and public playground equipment look similar in a photograph and are governed by entirely different documents, with different test regimes and different costs.

Domestic or commercial?

  • Domestic activity toys - swings, slides and similar items for family use - fall under the toy standards, with the activity toy part of the standard applying to the play features.
  • Public playground equipment - for schools, parks, nurseries and play providers - sits under a separate playground equipment standard, with additional requirements for surfacing, fall heights and inspection.

Tell us the channel and the destination market and we will confirm which applies before we quote, because the test programme is the difference between a competitive price and an unusable one.

Timber treatment and weather

Outdoor wooden play equipment lives in the rain. Timber species, moisture content at assembly, and how cut ends and drilled holes are protected all decide whether the item is sound after two winters. Hardware is the other half of the problem: fixings need to be corrosion resistant and matched to the timber, or the joints will fail before the wood does.

Assembly, anchoring and instructions

Almost all of this category ships flat. What matters is that the assembly drawing is usable by a parent with a spanner, that hardware is bagged by step, and that the item cannot be left free-standing when it is designed to be anchored. Where anchoring is required it has to be stated on the carton and in the manual, not buried in a footnote.

Freight and carton design

Play equipment is bulky and light, so it is priced by volume. Designing the carton so that components nest, and splitting long items into two pieces that pack together, usually saves more than negotiating on the unit price. We quote the carton dimensions and the packing configuration with every offer so the freight cost is visible.

Ordering

In-stock play items start at 50 pieces per item; large or mixed play sets are quoted per order. Samples are charged per item, custom sampling takes about 10 days, and the fee is deducted from the bulk order at 1,000 pieces per item. Production runs about 30 days after confirmation. Send the item list, the channel and the destination market and we will confirm the standards that apply before quoting.

Wooden playground MOQ, samples and lead times

Garden play equipment and public play area equipment look similar in a photograph and are governed by entirely different documents, so the first question is which standard the product has to meet.

How to compare wooden playground suppliers

Six questions separate a supplier who can run this line year after year from one who can only quote it once.

  • Does the factory make it, or buy it in? Ask which plant produces the item and whether the woodworking and the painting happen in the same place. Ours are made in our own 6,000 m2 plant in Yunhe, Zhejiang.
  • Are the test reports for this exact item? A report has to name the model you are buying, not a similar one from the same family. We supply the reports that cover the items on your order.
  • What happens on the repeat order? Finish, colour and dimensions have to stay put between the first order and the fourth. Automatic woodworking and painting lines are what make that repeatable.
  • Who decides the carton? Carton dimensions and packing format move the landed cost more than a small change in unit price, so they belong in the quotation, not in the shipping discussion.
  • What is the position on spare parts? Missing or damaged components are the most common after-sales claim on wooden toys; ask how replacements are handled and at what point.
  • Which standard applies, and to which market? Domestic activity toys and commercial playground equipment are tested differently, and the answer changes the whole specification.

What usually goes wrong on wooden playground orders

  • Domestic and commercial equipment treated as one product. They are assessed against different standards, with different test regimes and different paperwork.
  • Timber treatment not specified for the climate it will live in. Outdoor items are judged after a winter, not in the showroom.
  • Anchoring and assembly instructions left until the end, although they decide whether the item can be installed legally and safely.
