A marketplace listing fails for reasons that have nothing to do with the product: a missing certificate, a poly bag without the warning, a carton that will not scan. This page is about the parts of the order that the platform checks.

The documents a listing is asked for

Marketplace compliance teams work from a short list, and for a children’s product the certificate is the first item on it.

  • Children’s Product Certificate. Required in the US, based on testing at a laboratory accepted by the CPSC, and it names the item, the rule, and the date and place of testing. See the CPSIA page.
  • Test reports for ASTM F963 where the listing is in the US, and the standards of the destination market for other regions.
  • Material declarations for the wood, board, coatings and added parts, which is what the certificate is based on.
  • A tracking label for children’s products, permanently marked and pointing back to the production batch.

What a marketplace order has to get right

CertificateA Children’s Product Certificate for the US, based on testing at a CPSC-accepted laboratory. The platform requests it, and it has to name the item actually shipped.
Item labellingFNSKU labels applied as you specify, plus the tracking label information required for a children’s product in the US.
PackagingPoly bags with the suffocation warning where they are used, age grading, and small-parts warnings where the rule applies.
CartonsCarton markings, quantities and dimensions confirmed before production so the cartons are received without a manual override.
MOQ50 pieces per item on the in-stock range, which allows a realistic first test order rather than a container commitment.
ReordersAround 30 days after order confirmation, planned so a reorder arrives before the listing goes out of stock.

Labelling and packaging that pass inspection

  • FNSKU labels. Printed and applied as you specify, or supplied on sheets if you label in your own warehouse.
  • Poly bags. Where a bag is used, it carries the suffocation warning in the wording the market requires.
  • Age grading. The age on the packaging has to match the age grade the item was tested at, so it is not a marketing decision.
  • Warnings. Small-parts and other mandatory warnings applied where the rule applies, in the languages the market requires.

Ordering in a reorder cycle

Marketplace sellers rarely place one order. The practical question is whether the factory can repeat an item on a cycle that keeps the listing in stock.

  • Test first, then scale. 50 pieces per item on the in-stock range lets a listing be validated before a larger commitment.
  • Repeat against the sample. The approved sample stays on file, so a reorder is compared against the original rather than a description.
  • Lead time planned backwards. Around 30 days after order confirmation, plus transit, planned against your sales rate rather than your cash cycle.
  • Consistent carton data. Carton quantities and dimensions stay the same between runs where the packaging has not changed, which avoids repeat receiving problems.

What we supply for a marketplace order

  • ASTM F963 test reports from a CPSC-accepted laboratory, per item and material combination.
  • Material declarations for the wood, board, coatings and added parts, so the certificate can name what it is based on.
  • FNSKU labels, poly bag warnings and carton markings produced and applied to your specification.
  • Batch records linking the shipped cartons to the production run.

Catalogue items can be dispatched for sampling within 48 hours, so a listing can be built around a real product photograph rather than a supplier image.

Frequently asked questions

Do you provide the Children’s Product Certificate?

The certificate is issued by the importer or the domestic manufacturer placing the product on the US market. We provide the ASTM F963 test reports from a CPSC-accepted laboratory and the material declarations that the certificate is based on.

Can you apply FNSKU labels?

Yes. Labels can be printed and applied to your specification, or supplied on sheets if you prefer to label in your own warehouse.

How many pieces do we have to order for a first test?

50 pieces per item on the in-stock range, which is low enough to validate a listing before committing to a larger run.

Do you put the suffocation warning on poly bags?

Yes. Where a poly bag is used it carries the warning in the wording the destination market requires, and the age grading and small-parts warnings are applied where the rule applies.

How fast can you repeat an order?

Around 30 days after order confirmation, subject to complexity, material and quantity. The approved sample stays on file so the reorder matches the original item.

Can the carton data stay the same between orders?

Where the packaging has not changed, yes. Carton quantities and dimensions are confirmed before production and held for the reorder, which avoids repeat receiving problems.
