What to include in an enquiry

An enquiry that arrives with these five points is usually quoted the same day, because nothing has to be asked twice:

• The item. An item code from this website, a photograph, or a drawing. If you are comparing us against another supplier, send their sample photograph as well as the target specification.
• The quantity per item. Not the total order value — the quantity per design is what decides the price and whether the item is in stock.
• The destination country. It decides the test report you need (EN71 for the EU, ASTM F963 for the United States), the labelling and the packing.
• Branding and packaging. Unbranded, your logo on the toy, or a full private-label pack with your own retail box and barcode.
• The date you need the goods. If a promotional or seasonal date is fixed, tell us at quotation stage rather than at booking, because it decides whether the order fits the normal schedule.

What happens after you send it

1. We reply to enquiries within one working day with the questions that remain, if any.
2. You receive a quotation per item, with the specification sheet and the test report that belong to each item.
3. If you want to see the product, samples are charged per item: items in our range are normally dispatched within 48 hours, and custom or OEM samples take about 10 days.
4. Once the sample, the artwork and the packaging are approved, production normally runs about 30 days after order confirmation.
5. Test reports, packing data and the shipping documents follow the order through to the container.

Visiting the factory

Buyers who want to see the plant before placing an order are welcome. A visit usually covers the woodworking, sanding, painting, assembly and packing areas, and it is the quickest way to check how a factory handles edge sanding, paint curing and in-line inspection — the three things that decide whether a wooden toy passes a laboratory test and a retailer's own check. Tell us the date you are travelling and the items you want to see, and we will arrange the samples and the documentation in advance so that the visit answers questions rather than raising them.
