Montessori Toy Manufacturer
Montessori and early-learning wooden toys: trays, sorting and stacking materials, produced in our own factory in Yunhe, Zhejiang, and adapted to your own specification.
What we make in the Montessori and early-learning line
This range is built around a single idea: a child repeats one action until it is mastered. That puts the emphasis on the material surviving repetition, and on the finish being consistent from the first piece to the last.
- Sorting and posting — shapes and discs that drop into a recessed tray.
- Stacking and nesting — graduated rings, blocks and cylinders.
- Trays and boards — a flat wooden tray that holds a set and keeps it together on a shelf.
- Lacing and threading — beads and shapes on a cord, a common first fine-motor material.
- Games with a rule — for example the shut-the-box dice game (TS5002) for older children.
The range sits in the Montessori wooden toys category, alongside wooden building blocks.

Unfinished or painted: the decision that defines the product
Montessori materials are often expected to be plain, sanded wood so that the shape is the information. But not every market accepts that, and a painted version is a different product with a different test file.
- Unfinished — sanded to two or three rounds, no coating, and no paint migration test to argue about.
- Painted — water-based paint on the automatic line, formulated for the EN71-3 migration limits.
- Mixed — an unfinished body with painted accents, which is the most common request for a retail range.
Whichever you choose, the decision is fixed before production, because it changes both the finishing line and the test programme.
Why the sanding matters more here than anywhere else
An early-learning material is handled, dropped and chewed far more per unit of wood than a play kitchen panel. Sanding runs to two or three rounds depending on the item, and edges are checked after finishing rather than before, which is the step that catches a lifted edge on a coated part.
- Chamfers and radii are set at design stage, not corrected by hand later.
- Cut faces are sanded again after the piece is cut to its final size.
- Finished parts are checked against the sharp-edge requirement before packing.
Sampling and ordering
A sample is built from an existing catalogued material wherever possible, which keeps both the cost and the lead time down. Custom sampling takes about 10 days and production runs around 30 days after confirmation. In-stock materials start at 50 pieces per item.
FSC chain of custody (certificate ESTS-COC-240650) covers the beech and plywood where FSC stock is specified, and amfori BSCI audit documentation is available for buyers who need it.
