Building Blocks Manufacturer
Block sets, rainbow stackers and balance games in beech and rubberwood, cut and finished in our own factory in Yunhe, Zhejiang.
What we make in the building block line
Blocks are the simplest product we make and the hardest to make well, because there is nowhere to hide: the cut, the sand and the colour are the whole product, and a set is judged by the worst piece in the box.
- Plain block sets (TS6003, TS6004) — cubes, cuboids, columns and arches in a fixed unit system.
- Rainbow stackers (TS6001, TS6002) — graduated arcs and rings, the classic first stacking material.
- Balance and animal blocks (TS6000) — irregular pieces that have to balance on each other.
- Branded sets — a printed or laser-engraved unit in the set, plus your box, insert and instruction card.
The range sits in the wooden building blocks category, alongside Montessori materials.
Wooden toy manufacturing: the commercial facts
| Factory or trading company | Factory. Our own 6,000 m2 plant in Yunhe, Zhejiang, with a team of 80 and wooden toy production since 2007. |
|---|---|
| MOQ | 50 pieces per item for in-stock wooden toys. OEM, ODM and private-label items are quoted per product, because the minimum depends on how much is customised. |
| Samples | Catalogue items are usually dispatched within 48 hours. Custom sampling takes about 10 days. |
| Sample credit | The sample fee is deducted from the bulk order once the order for that item reaches 1,000 pieces. |
| Production lead time | Around 30 days after order confirmation, subject to complexity, material and quantity. |
| Payment | 30 percent T/T deposit in advance with the balance before shipment; final terms are confirmed with your order. |
| Certification | EN71 for the EU; ASTM F963 with CPSIA and Children’s Product Certificate documentation for the US; FSC chain of custody and BSCI. |
| Customisation | OEM, ODM and private label: logo printing or laser engraving, colour matching, packaging and instruction sheets. |
| Export markets | Europe, North America and Oceania. |
| Shipping | Export cartons or retail-ready packaging, with the commercial documents and carton marks prepared for your forwarder. |
| Block range | 5 catalogue items, TS6000 to TS6004, covering animal balance blocks, rainbow stacking blocks and plain block sets. |
| Wood and finish | Beech and rubberwood with a natural sanded finish or water-based painted colour, depending on the material. |
| Sizes | Standard units from 20 mm upwards, so a block set can be built to a piece count and a unit size rather than to a fixed box. |
| Age grading | From 12 months for large units that pass the small-parts test; 3+ for smaller piece sets. |
Why the unit system matters more than the piece count
A 50-piece set and a 100-piece set can be the same product with a different box. What actually determines whether it builds anything is the unit ratio: if the blocks are not multiples of one base unit, the towers do not line up and the set gets abandoned.
- Unit ratios are fixed at design stage and stay fixed across a range, so sets from different boxes build together.
- Piece counts are then a commercial choice rather than a design change.
- Carton weight and volume are calculated per set, because blocks are dense and freight is charged on both.
Sanding, edges and colour
Blocks are handled far more per unit of wood than any other product in the catalogue, and they are the item most likely to be put in a mouth.
- Sanding. Two to three rounds depending on the material, with the cut faces sanded again after final sizing.
- Edges. Chamfers and radii are cut at design stage, not corrected by hand afterwards.
- Colour. Water-based paint applied on the automatic line and checked against the EN71-3 migration limits; unfinished sets carry no coating at all.
- Small parts. Any set sold under three years uses units that pass the small-parts cylinder.
Sampling and ordering
A block set is usually sampled from an existing unit with a new piece count or artwork, which is quick and cheap. Custom sampling takes about 10 days, production runs around 30 days after confirmation, and in-stock sets start at 50 pieces per item. Mixed orders can be consolidated into one shipment.

Frequently asked questions
Can you make a block set to our own piece count?
Yes. Because the unit system is fixed, changing the piece count is a commercial change rather than a new tool, so a set can be built to your target box and price point.
Do you supply blocks unfinished as well as painted?
Yes. Natural sanded and water-based painted versions are both produced, and mixed sets with an unfinished body and painted accents are common.
Which wood do you use for blocks?
Beech and rubberwood, with FSC-certified stock used where the specification allows.
Are the blocks safe for children under three?
Sets sold under three years use units large enough to pass the small-parts test, and the set is tested and labelled for the age grade it is sold under.
What is the MOQ?
In-stock sets start at 50 pieces per item; OEM and private-label sets are quoted per product.
Can you print or engrave our brand on a block?
Yes. A printed or laser-engraved unit is a common addition, and the box, insert and instruction card can carry your artwork.
